K-9 Courage honors the four-legged responders who came from across the country to contribute to the rescue and recovery efforts after 9/11. Ten years after the attacks, Dutch photographer Charlotte Dumas located 15 of the 9/11 dogs and traveled around the United States to create portraits of their retirement at home. K-9 Courage combines Dumas’s beautiful portraits with photographs of the dogs during their service. The exhibition provides visitors and families a unique entry point to the museum’s difficult content.

I worked on K-9 Courage from concept to installation—overseeing the concept, design, fabrication, installation, and lighting.
